For more than 30 years our factory has incorporated biomass into production to store and recycle its wood waste. The recovery of waste such as wood dust and wood chips has been a key element in creating a sustainable development cycle. All organic waste is recycled and turned into energy to power production.

ONGOING RESEARCH

COMMITMENT TO THE FUTURE

New production techniques and machinery will improve efficiency and use 30% less timber. This saving of raw material equates to a reduction of 5000km for land transport annually. It is also a goal to certify all shoe trees are 100% recyclable. Saphir will also look to invest in other renewable energy solutions with the introduction of solar to accompany biomass energy.
